10 Everyday Habits That Quietly Drain Your Bank Account
5. Saved cards and one-click buying
Every shopping app wants to store your card, because friction protects your money and they know it. When buying takes one tap, you buy more and regret more. Removing the saved card means you have to get up and find your wallet, and that tiny pause kills most impulse purchases before they happen.
Do this today: delete saved cards from shopping apps and your browser. Add one personal rule: anything over $50 waits 24 hours. If you still want it tomorrow, buy it with a clear conscience.

6. Paying only the minimum on your credit card
The minimum payment is designed to keep you in debt for as long as possible. At a typical card interest rate, a $2,000 balance paid at the minimum can take well over a decade to clear and cost more in interest than the original balance. It is the single most expensive habit on this list, and the easiest to underestimate because the monthly number looks small.
Do this today: pay as much above the minimum as you can, every month, starting with the card that charges the highest rate. Even an extra $25 a month shortens the payoff dramatically.
